I am sick of no one being able to figure out what is wrong with my son.
He is 10 months old and he has been having upper respiratory problems since birth.
When he was born he had slight breathing problems but nothing too serious they only had him in the nursery for 2 hours. In his first month, l called him my little piggy because he always snorted. His second month, he started coughing all the time. His nose would be runny and l would have to have a humidifier by his bed when he slept because he would constantly wake up from not being able to breathe.
EVERY DAY since the day he was born he has been wheezing, coughing, gasping for air. It is VERY persistent. The doctors gave him the inhalers albuterol and flovent to use (asthma treatment). l have gotten so many different explanations for his problems that now l am confused of what it is. One doctor says it is asthma, another doctor says it is not. One says he is not sure so for now it will just be called ''wheezy bronchitis,'' another says it is too early to jump to the term ''bronchitis.'' l dont think it is asthma because a lot of my family members have asthma and it is NEVER as persistent as my son is problems. My brother has very severe asthma and even he has his good days. There are never any good days for him. They have taken chest xrays which have come up clear, they have given him prednezone which did nothing. He now has a nebulizer and uses albuterol and pulmicort respules. Nothing is working.

l just would like some ideas of what anybody thinks may be the problem. l believe in homeopaths so if you know of any good things to try. l heard black licorice is good to use however l havent tried it yet. If anything and you dont have any imput at least pray for him please.
the first thing the doctors tested for was cystic fibrosis. they did a chest xray which was supposed to show whether he had it or not and as l said the chest xray came out clear.

Have u asked ur sons doctors about something like cystic fibrosis? l will provide some links for u to look at about that problem. l was thinking of this when u were mentioning that they were giving him asthma treatments.

Hopefully some of these helps. You should also consider going to a major hospital like UCLA or Yale that is attached to a major university. These doctors r into researching.

l am not on here to offend anyone but u say that no one can figure out whats wrong with ur child. l do not know u but some of these causes could be bacteria around the house that u may be unaware of, by no way am l stating ur dirty but with children & sensitive noses of children, it may be he is allergic to the following, unclean toilet, needs to be bleached everyday with a child whom is very congested, Bacteria flies through the air like the FLU, clean his area everyday, this may make u real tired, Eating utensils must be meticulous, & sometimes bleached properly rinsed, All floors must be sanitary, & he needs vitamins for children, he will need to drink a lot of fluids, juices, water, hardly no milk at all, with kids l am fully aware that his is impossible. l thought l had something wrong with me all my life, doctors saying, this is typical, Guess what ? 40 yrs later. l was diagnosed with...Asthma.

If ur son has a chronic illness, homeopathic remedies r not the answer. They only treat symptoms (if that) & do not cure a disease or congenital defect.

There r so many respiratory related illnesses & congenital defects that it would be foolish to try to guess what ur son may have. Honestly if he was my child & he had gone a year without a proper diagnosis or effective treatment, l would consider taking him to one of the best hospitals in the USA such as Mayo Clinic or one of the children is research hospitals.

Why? Because if he is not getting better, he has not been properly diagnosed & all the doctors u have seen r not competent enough to know what ur son is illness is. Yes, to be frank, not every doctor is equally qualified to diagnose a specific illness, & luck plays a huge part in coming across one who is. Generally though, people go to these hospitals exactly for that reason: they do not know what is wrong & neither do any of the doctors they've seen. So these places have experience with the more rare diseases. It sounds like it could even be congenital if he had it since birth.

l will be praying for him & hoping that u do find a doctor with enough experience to identify the issue.

This may help a little l hope. My brother was born with severe asthma & that meant a trip to the hospital at least once a week. My parents were very stressed about it until they had an internal medicine doctor send them to an old country chiropractor. He had them cup their hand where it would make a slight pop when they patted him on the back while laying on his stomach. It was amazing the difference it made. They did it several times a day. The air pressure actually made his lungs clearer & once he got old enough he started going to the chiropractor himself & it kept his breathing problems at a minimum. l hope this can help.

My suggestion would be to take him a very good clinic or super specialized children is hospital. If the doctor is turning up nothing, u need to see a specialist. It would not sound so out of the ordinary if he was not having this EVERY day.

That is my 2 cents on it. If the doctor can not find it, a specialist is in order. l do not know where u live so l have no idea what could be in ur area where u could take him, but l do beleive u should take him to a special clinic or children is hospital.

l am sorry, they did a chest x-ray to see if he had CF? Is this the only test that they did? If the did other tests & they came back negative that is great but if this is all they did that is not enough to determine whether or not he has CF or not. They would need to have done a sweat test or a blood test to see if he carries the genes.

My son has CF & he was given a blood test first which confirmed he had the genes necessary & a few months later he was given a sweat test which apparrantly is the 'gold standard' diagnostic tool.

Best of luck in finding what is wrong with ur wee man.
