l get really tired and can not breath after running for a short time. This is just recent. Could it be ashma?

Yeah, l have really bad ashma. Here are the symptoms -
-Your chest tightens up
-Coughing
-You feel wheezy
-You feel sometimes you cannot breathe through your lungs because
the hole in your windpipe is too small.

Do not make this putting you off running and sport though. l am really sporty and exercise is proven to help ashtma.

It could be. Go to ur doctor, they will listen to ur chest, rake a medical history & should give u a peak flow test. You should be sent to see a specialist for proper diagnosis which involves different test where u blow into machines to determine ur lung capacity & strength. Family doctors can diagnose asthma, but they tend to over diagnose these days, when someone is just a bit breathless. The symptoms r tight chest, wheezing & cough. The treatment involves using a bronchodilator such as salbutamol & a steroid inhaler to prevent attacks (usual but for more serious asthma you'd have additional inhalers). If u start wheezing & and cannot catch ur breath or speak call 999 (or 911/emergency) because asthma can kill! You cannot diagnose asthma by asking peoples opinions on here, u need to see a doctor!

Typical symptoms of asthma include shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing (dry or producing clear/white phlegm), etc.

Go see your doctor - they will take a history, ask you to do a couple of simple tests just involving blowing hard into peak flow meters, and put you on simple medication if they do diagnose as asthma.

It could be exercise induced asthma [EIA], but you really need to see a doctor about this :). It also depends if the symptoms only happen during/after exercise.
