My son has just turned two and l still do not cope with the diagnosis.l have always been such a positive person but am finding it very hard to accept this.

This has to be very difficult for u & my prayers go out to u & ur little one.
It would be a good idea if u found a local support group with other parents of children with this disease. Also, talk to ur own physician about some counseling for yourself. Do not let it go, as it will not get better on its own. People with disabled children of all types often do let these feelings go & and end up feeling very resentful of their child. Do not want that to happen to you.

Try to find a support group in your area for families dealing with CF. Your local hospital should be able to assist you find one. If not, look in your local yellow pages for a local group. Dealing with any chronic illness can be very depressing and stressful to a parent. Do you have family close by that can help you? Remember, your son is dependent on you and the more stress you show, the worse he will feel.

My daughter also has cf she is 9 months old. l dont think we will ever come to cope with it fully but l found it helpful to talk to other parents whose children have it. We treat her like any other normal child and l usually check on here or other groups and help parents who are just now going through with this themselves. l feel like if l have information or experience to help other parents it makes me fell better to talk to them.
