l was wondering whether any one on here is clever enough to suggest whether l have a deviated septum.. here are my symptoms:
It is easier breathing out of one nostril than the other
l have a bump at the top of my nose
When l slide my figures down my nose it bends one way
l have always had very bad headaches
l often get lung pain and find it hard to breathe whilst eating

those are the only symptoms l can think of. l really hope l dont have it!

LOL l just watched it on doctor 90210, yes u do have a deviated septum & only through surgery can u get that fixed. They cut off some of the cartilage except the girl on tv had a bump which camouflaged the bend in her nose so it looked straight but the bump protruded forward. l dont know about the headaches & lung pain though it could be u have a problem with a sinus, the difficulty breathing is it like if u have a cold & a stuffy nose & cant breathe through u nose?

Sounds like it is possible. l used to always breath with my mouth open and my mom would always tell me to shut my mouth. One day she happened to be laying down and l was standing over her. She saw that my nose was crooked.

A septoplasty later - to straighten the nose and open the airways and l can breathe a lot better.

You'd be amazed at how much gauze they can stuff in a sinus cavity and the size of the splints they can shove up your nose.

yes, it sounds like you have some of the symptoms for it. The only way to fix it is to get surgery. l would say that your lung pain has got to be from something else, you might want to get that checked out. You find it hard to breath while eating because you are blocking your passageway for air and to breathe through your nose is difficult while eating too.Good luck with that.
