im 16 and dont know if this is a panic attack or not...

sometimes l will be having the worst day and l get very angry and frustrated and l feel like crying but im so mad that l dont cry l just yell and get even more mad, l start to breathe all wierd, l get shorter breaths everytime l breathe in, l start to feel all light headed and my body gets tingly, l sort of feel like the way l feel when l yawn, why is this so? and is this even a panic attck? oh and whats the difference between a panic attack and an anxiety attack, how would l know if l had anxiety?

l do not think it is an anxiety or panic attack. Might be depression. Go to a doctor and let him evaluate it. The difference between a panic attack and anxiety attack: Panic attacks come out of the blue, you can not figure out what caused them. There are fears of dying or going crazy. With anxiety, you probably know you're anxious and can pin point what is causing it. Hope this helps.
Also with Panic, they come on quickly but are slow to leave.

your probably just getting light headed from the hyper-ventilating, l used to get this ALOT when l had depression, you should see a doctor, who can arrange an appointment with phycology a therapy, or l do not mind talking to you about it.

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc.) causes ur Serotonin production to be low; when ur Serotonin level is low, u r more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSR l - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level.
But there r natural ways to do it without medication. There is this strange herb called ''St John is Wort'' - it is said to be more effective than Prozac. No, it is not for mild depression only & ignore those sayings. In fact, it does help anxiety & panic-attacks as St John is Wort works like prozac. Other natural ways will be exercise, diet, more exposure to light, etc.

The problem is that, even if ur Serotonin is balanced. u have that ''learned behavior'' in ur mind. You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this. A technique that u can use without CBT will be Distraction. There r several other techniques to help cope them!

sound similar to a panic attack but it sounds more like depression.
Anxiety is having just a few symptoms of a panic attack. oh and panic attacks are not always sudden, they can build up. Panic attacks and anxiety attacks are the same thing.
