l have been sick for quite some time now..... wheezing in thorat when l breath, mucus, hard cough, tight chest, and loss of voice and sore throat..... l was on amoxocillian for a week and it seemed to be clearing up, but only was on it for a week and it came back. Another doctor gave me a z pack that had no effect.

what are the differences of these two drugs.... does one work better than the other?

Zithromax (Azithromycin)
Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease due to Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis or Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Acute bacterial sinusitis due to Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis or Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Community-acquired pneumonia due to Chlamydia pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae or Streptococcus pneumoniae in patients appropriate for oral therapy.

Amoxocillin
These antibiotics all have a similar mechanism of action. They do not kill bacteria, but they stop bacteria from multiplying by preventing bacteria from forming the walls that surround them. The walls r necessary to protect bacteria from their environment & to keep the contents of the bacterial cell together. Bacteria cannot survive without a cell wall. Amoxicillin is effective against many different bacteria including H. influenzae, N. gonorrhoea, E. coli, Pneumococci, Streptococci, & certain strains of Staphylococci.
