l used my asthma pump a LOT of times because l was wheezing a LOT.
you guys are asking for more details so:
i have mild asthma and l dont usually wheeze a lot but every once in a while.
the inhaler l use is Proventil (because they say that the Albuterol is bad for the environment so they're trying to switch everyone)
and l took like 2 puffs every 10 minutes becuase l felt the wheezing was not getting any better. l know l should have waited to see results but l was tortured.

that can lead to overdoes which of course can make your airway weak and stop breathing.

BUT dont worry. just dont do that too much. you might need advair.

Well l do not know exactly how bad ur asthma is, but l have asthma but its extremley acute, but when l get sick & l have to use my inhaler sometimes l take more than what is needed, but l almost never use my inhaler regularly l only use it if Im sick & wheezing.

But l do not think two more puffs on ur pump will kill u as long as u r not doing it continuously, but if u find the need to take more puffs because ur wheezing is horrible maybe u need a different prescription, if that still persists I'd go to the doctor & tell them that despite the medication u still wheeze alot.

Your question is pretty vague . can you be more specific .. l cannot answer your question with any validity unless you clarify the following:

How many puffs are you taking at one time and how often (hours/minutes apart between subsequent dosing)?

Are you not getting any relief at all from your puffer?

Do you have ''nut'' allergies?

What puffer are you using?

Your albuterol inhaler is meant to be a rescue inhaler, if u r using ur inhaler more then twice weekly then ur asthma is not well controlled. Albuterol just opens up the airway but it doesnt control inflammation. You may be masking a worsening asthma condition that requires corticosteroids to help control inflammation. Keep track of the number of times ur using ur rescue inhaler & make an appointment with ur doctor to make sure that u get under control to avoid risking a possible asthma attack in the future.

Your albuterol inhaler is meant to be used as 1 to 2 puffs every 4 to 6 hours as needed. You may need a corticosteroid in addition to ur inhaler that should be used on a daily basis such as flovent or asmanex. You can aslo talk to ur doctor about advair or symbicort which r combination medications that have both a steroid (to control inflammation) & another drug class called a long-acting beta agonsist ( which means it opens up the airways ), which by the way is the same as ur albuterol except ur albuterol is a short acting meaning that it works faster thats why its called a rescue inhaler.
