ive been smoking for 2 years and l am extremly addicted but if im doing somthing l can go hours without doing it.It dosent show that l smoke l can run and it dosent slow me down but cancer runs high in my family.
any suggs.....??????

l do not know if you're able to get these, they're expensive.. They're called Chantix, they're pills that you take and it like ELIMINATES the urges.
l worked for me!

You can ask ur doctor to give u something for it. There is a new medication called Chantix. You take it twice a day, morning & night. It confuses the endorphines in ur brain & makes u not even want to smoke. The first week u start it, u smoke like usual. then the second week, u slowly cut down until you're not smoking at all. People usually take it for 3-6 months. my boyfriend took it for a while & it really worked well!! until. he lost his insurance could not get his refill & now he is smoking again. uugghhh!!!!! but anyways, talk to ur doctor & see what u can do!! l will tell u from personal experience, & the experience of several people l know that stayed quit: Cold Turkey.
It is not fun, but it is the quickest, most successful way l know of. Think of it like taking a Band-Aid off - the quicker u do it, the less u draw it out, the better. Nicotine replacement methods maintain ur chemical addiction, & that is not what we want.
You will need 3-4 days. Take a weekend & a vacation day or two. Nicotine leaves the body after about 36 hours. Stay home, do not drink alcohol, do not watch movies where someone may smoke. STAY BUSY ALL THE TIME. Play video games, learn something, build a puzzle,just keep ur mind off of smoking.
Try & remember - the first 3 days r the hardest. Every day after that, it gets easier. Trust me. After 3 days, the nicotine is gone. The physical addiction will go away surprisingly quickly. The mental addiction varies, but becomes easy to manage.
All this requires is a lot of willpower for 3 days, & a little after that. l smoked for 9 years & am one of the least motivated people l know.

First, you are not extremely addicted or you couldn`t go hours without smoking. Secondly, you must really want to quit or you won`t succeed. And last there are smoking aids that make quitting easier and your local hospital should have smoking cessation classes for you to attend where you are given pointers on how to help break the habit. It shouldn`t be that difficult for a 2 yr. smoker as opposed to someone who has been smoking for 25 yrs. Good luck.

Smoking is more of a psychological addiction than a physical one. If u really want to quit u must discover the reasons why u smoke & then eliminate or change these thought processes. As soon as l dealt with my psychological reasons for smoking l quit, first time & more importantly for good.
Once u deal with the psychological side of smoking it makes the quitting process easy, no matter ur level of addiction.
All that is required is a bit of motivation (you have that already with family history of cancer), self belief & determination. l agree with a previous answer, u r not extremely addicted. If u think this u r holding yourself back because u r placing unnecessary negative beliefs in ur head. Positivity is key to quitting.

First, smoking is a habit, & we all know that habits r hard to break. Think about when u need to smoke.
Second, we know smoking is a psychological habit, but it is also a physical addiction. The fact is that about 90% of those who smoke, r clinically addicted.
The nicotine of a cigarette actually causes a temporary ''high''. When u deprive ur body of the nicotine, u actually cause physical withdrawal symptoms, such as severe cravings.
So it really makes sense why smokers have such a difficult time. Smokers r faced with a psychological & a physical discomfort.
