I've recently been diagnosed with a sinus infection, and l threw up a few times because of post nasal drip mucus getting into my stomach. Can the mucus also cause an upset stomach?
If yes, what can be done to relieve the upset stomach?

l actually finished my anti-biotics medication. They were only for about six days, and it' supposed to stay in my system for 10 days.

l feel like the symptoms have not gone away really of the sinus infection, still pressure in my eyes, nose, head, face, everywhere. The nausea is better, l can at least go to class now! =P

l do also have an allergy, the doctor said, and she did suggest Claritan. l am guessing the allergy exacerbates the sinus infection?

Definatly! The post nasal drip can make your stomach upset, vomit and it can definatly cause a sore throat! Hope you get better!

ya it can, go to the doctor & see if they will put u on an antibiotic, chances r u have a sever sinus infection, & in which case they will probably or at least should put u on an antibiotic, if not take some musinex to help with the cough & mucus, also l find that calritan is great for me at least, if u have not tryed it give it a try, in order to get he real stuff u will have to talk to a pharmacist cause u can not get it off the shelf any more because people were using the ingredients to make drugs, so go to ur local pharmacy & try it out.

As far as what to do for it, in Primary prevention try to take something to dry up the infection. If it is an infection, l imagine you are on antibiotics. Try some benedryl or sudafed to help with that. For the stomach specifically, you can use antacids, but do not take them within an hour of the times you take your other medications. It can decrease their effectiveness.

Sinus infections can cause u to have an upset stomach, just as u said from post nasal drip & also maybe the antibiotic that u r taking. Sinus infections could also cause u to have headaches & can lead to eye infections, & ear infections, etc. But since u may be taking an antibiotic - u should not end up with anymore infections than what u already have. The antibiotic could cause u to have an upset stomach, notice if it says to take with food or not. l find that ginger helps to take care of an upset stomach - like ginger ale. Sometimes a fruity hard candy or peppermint can make ur stomach feel a little better. Of course, there is pepto bismol too. Try to get ur head as clear as possible with steam, vaporizer, & hot showers. As ur health improves, the stomach should improve as well. Just read ur additional note - & yes the allergies do trigger the infections ( l know from experience). What l would take is Sudafed decongestant which u must get from the pharmacist & sign for it. That relieved the pressure & clears u up some. The headache - Tylenol or whatever. When l feel my alergies coming on l take something for it right away & now l do not have the chronic sinus infections.
