how much damage do you think I've done to my respiratory system?do you think if l stop that my body would fully recover

Your body will not fully recover from the damage you've already done to it. l suggest you stop now to prevent problems in the future. My grandfather smoked for 40+ years and is now suffering from respiratory problems that could have been prevented, had he stopped smoking or not smoked at all. l hate to see my Grandfather suffer like this and urge EVERYONE to stop smoking and/or to not even start!

cigarettes can cause a tremendous amt of damage to ur airways. stopping now will help you, but it is difficult to know if u would regain 100% of ur function back. But what l do know is that smoking debilitates the cilia within the lungs. (the little hairs that help move mucus out of ur lungs) that is why smokers have such bad coughs in the morning- the lungs r trying to move that mucus out as quickly as it can, before they r basically paralyzed again. Marijuana creates a lot of resin build up. (you know the stuff that gets all over the pipe.) It becomes deposited in ur lungs & places u at risk for bronchiectasis. which is a chronic pulmonary condition. MJ also has alot of effects on ur cardiac system. it first drops ur blood pressure through massive vasodilation. That is why u may get cold, & feel relaxed. Your heart is used to having a certain blood pressure, so when it senses a drop in the BP, it will basically send out a signal to vasoconstrict. This up & down can be hard on ur heart. If u r male THC represses the amount of testosterone ur body is secreting. So without knowing HOW MUCH u smoked, or what ur current pulmonary function tests look like, l cannot tell u with 100% certainty that u would regain all of ur lung function back. But l can tell u that u will be doing ur body a huge favor, allowing yourself a better chance at having a decent quality of life. The first few days of quitting r difficult, u will have a lot of sputum production & u will feel like .. but give yourself a chance & u will be amazed! good luck!
