please can someone tell me how to stop my very sore throat?? it hurts when ever l swallow and sometimes when l breathe.. thanks!!

chewing on a mandarin skin makes my throat feel better when it gets sore

you need to consult a doctor , so you could be given prescription for antibiotics. meantime, maybe you can try gargling with Bactidol? or tap water with a little salt.

First off, drink plenty of water. Then gargle with salt water. Sucking on cough drops or hard candy can help. l believe the dissolved sugar scrapes the residue irritating ur throat.

Sore throats r usually caused by mucous draining from ur nose down ur throat or by ur immune system attempting to attack viruses (or mabye bacteria) in ur throat.

If u have a runny nose, it is probably the culprit. Antihistamines can help that, but make u drowsy. There r some other over-the-counter medications that r non-drowsy, u can take a look. As a disclaimer, l say that u should know ur allergies before self medicating. Also, water & cough drops.

If it is just ur throat, then it is also possible that u have a bronchial infection or tonsillitis or something like that. Hopefully, it is something ur immune system can handle & u just need lots of water, sleep, & nutrition. If it is more serious, like the above mentioned conditions, u might want to see a doctor for antibiotics or other treatment.

The symptoms of a sore throat can be relieved by using over-the-counter medicines, such as sprays containing antiseptics & anaesthetics to numb the sore area, or antiseptic gargles. These can be bought without a prescription & ur doctor or pharmacist will be able to advise u about them.

Short term get an aspirin and let it dissolve in water, gargle. This will take pain away. Long term get to dr, u may need antibiotics.

Gargle salt water.

Most sore throats are the results of a viral infection. Antibiotics do not respond to virus's. Just push fluid intake, take paracetamol. Do not gargle with Aspirin or salt water, the latter is dangerous and Aspirin will irritate the lining of your already inflamed throat.

l have a friend that swears by hot and sour soup. You can get it at any Chinese restaurant. She says it makes the pain go away right away. l hope you feel better.
