Any advise by someone who has gone thru it or who has got some knowledge about it, any doctors around, is it safe, any side affects, anything l need to be really concerned about, as l have some breathing problems & facial pain now, but any impacts you think it will affect me in anyways ? Pls help & advise? as iam doing this after several visits to the ENT specialists over the year & now one of the specialist has suggested this & is assuring me atleast 75% result. Pls advise? thanks very much in advance.

l have not had this done, but l have a helpful hint.

Our patients were not allowed to use straws after nasal surgery, & drinking could be difficult when the glass was tipped far enough that the top of the glass touched the nose area.

So we used Styrofoam coffee cups, & would 'pinch' out a half-circle about two inches wide, & about 3/4 to one inch deep from the Styrofoam cup.

The patient would put the normal part of the cup to their mouth like usual, & when the glass was tipped, the cutout portion did not bump into the sore nose area anymore.

l am guessing the nurses that care for u afterwards will already know this trick, but now u know it so u can get a pack of Styrofoam cups & practice ahead of time. Good luck with ur surgery! I've heard from people having this surgery that once they recovered, it was great not having painful sinus problems anymore.
